I have always admired the sunset. The sun is like an artist, and the sky is the canvas: all the colors of the rainbow blend so masterfully into one flawless masterpiece. Nor is any one sunset the same: day in and day out the sun paints the heavens with its rays however it feels led. Like a raging fire, it tints the forest floor orange and turns the green hills to gold. It seems to nearly consume the tree trunks in a fiery light and to set their precious leaves ablaze.
Such a spectacle to behold! Perhaps it is the sun's pomp that makes the sunset such a sight. Is it challenging the moon to match its beauty in the night? Is it so that the sun reminds the night sky who is the largest star? Maybe, but perhaps it is not glory that the sun seeks, but rather, it seeks to recall to our mind the splendor of all creation and Who created it.
