Ah, how I love when little lights fill the air! They are not those celestial ones who sit in the heavens, twinkling from their distant abodes; nor are they those which man has wrought and scattered across city skylines. No, these that I love are living and moving, spontaneous and wild. My eyes scan the fields for them. Wonder awakens as this golden little floating light suddenly flickers to life and just as suddenly vanishes. When one of the lights blinks on just in front of my face, I snatch at it and trap it between my hands. I feel the tickle of little legs crawling around in my hand, searching for an escape. I peek inside. The firefly's light immediately flares and it zips out of the small opening in my hands to join the other lights suspended in the air.
Ah, how I love the dance of the summer lights--the fireflies--flying about like embers of a flameless fire.
I'm a sci-fi/fantasy lover & writer who especially likes talking about Star Wars and futuristic tech. I like finding new things & finding the beauty in old things, especially in my "Everyday Snippets" series. I hope you'll join me on my blog and unleash your imagination!
