April Fools'! It's not April Fools' anymore!
Nonetheless, that doesn't change the fact that there are plenty of products teased this April Fools' that should have been real. I'm rounding up five of those for you today. Let's get started!
Jurassic World Dinosaur Detection System
You know what the most terrifying thing in the world is? No, it's not when you only get eight likes on your tweet--it's when you're watching Jurassic Park and...that little puddle of water starts to ripple. Well thank goodness for the good people at ThinkGeek for conjuring up this Dinosaur Detection System using the science(?) of the Jurassic Park movies! You can tell if a T-rex is about to snag you based on one of four "ripple" readings, ranging from "Area Secure" to "Run! Attack Imminent!" I actually need this. I mean, what am I going to do if scientists ever bring back extinct carnivorous animals and turn their lab into an amusement park?
Star Trek Klingon Fridge Magnets
Why teach your kids the actual alphabet when you can teach them all the Klingon pIqaD? These magnets, also from ThinkGeek, would allow you and your family to join a whopping few dozen people who actually speak this language fluently. Or just use them for practical purposes, like to proudly display your child's drawing of their bat'leth on your fridge.
Amazon Publishing's Author Delivery Service
Why read when you can just meet the author yourself? Amazon Publishing's newest "service" will let you order your favorite author and have them meet you at your house. I'm sure you've already got a favorite author in your head (*wink wink nudge nudge*), but as for who I would pick, I don't think the service lets you bring dead authors back. So, there's that.
BritBox, a video streaming service in the UK and Canada, announced on April 1st that they will be launching a feature that allows clueless Americans to change actors' voices from British to American accents. We all know you've wondered, "Why do they call it a chip--it's a fry!" or "What even is a cuppa?" Look no further than Interp-Brit to help you out.
(I'll say I'm a bit divided on this one just because I love the accents--even if I don't know what in tarnation they're talking about.)
Lego Sorting Vacuum
I am very passionate about this, guys, because the struggle is real. LEGO's new "VacuSort" picks up all those pesky bricks off the floor so they stay off your feet in the middle of the night! But that's not all--it sorts them by color and brick, all while separating the dirt. Like, wow.
I like talking about sci-fi, Star Wars, tech, and occasionally outer space every Monday. If you enjoyed this post, be sure to check out my other "Real Life Sci-fi" blog posts here.
I'm a sci-fi/fantasy lover & writer who especially likes talking about Star Wars and futuristic tech. I like finding new things & finding the beauty in old things, especially in my "Everyday Snippets" series. I hope you'll join me on my blog and unleash your imagination!
