Maybe you're reading this on your smartphone. Take a moment to look at it. Perhaps you've got several accessories for it--a case, maybe a screen protector--but you know what? You're missing something. A robotic finger. Yes, you heard me right. French researchers agree, by the way. As a matter of fact, they've been working on a project called MobiLimb that will sate your need to have a robotic finger poking out of the bottom of your smartphone. Yes, all your dreams are truly bundled into this one accessory. Always wanted your phone to surreptitiously crawl across the table using a disembodied finger? Check. Always wanted a lifeless appendage to stroke your wrists while you scroll through your social media? Check. Always wanted an accessory that you could cover with faux human skin to make your device seem more lifelike? Of course you have! MobiLimb is all this and more! And the best news is, it simply plugs in to your phone's microUSB port, and it's ready to go--so you can get to having that finger wag at you when you've got notifications quicker! What's the real purpose of this thing, you might ask? Frankly, I don't know. But quite honestly, if you really do want this thing, we can't be friends. Giving our phones a finger is literally the first step to the AI-pocalypse. I like talking about sci-fi, Star Wars, tech, outer space, and other science-y stuff every Monday.
