The Star Wars Universe was busy this week. Fans have been abuzz about new photos and leaks from across the spectrum. Some of these leaks have been specific, and others more vague and open to interpretation. Let's dive in. (WARNING: Possible spoilers ahead).
Vanity Fair's cover story

It would be remiss of me to not talk about the highly anticipated Vanity Fair story covering the making of The Last Jedi, as well as providing some never-before-seen photos and hints about the upcoming movie. The article definitely features some beautiful photography by Annie Leibovitz, such as the picture above. (Although, my favorite one is this one, featuring Adam Driver as Kylo Ren with his lightsaber ignited.)

Besides some mesmerizing photography, the Vanity Fair piece also dove into some meatier info about the upcoming movies, including:
The Last Jedi is slated to be the "most shocking" yet, according to a Japanese poster
While you may have already gotten an inkling that this was true, one fan, Wired reports that a Japanese promotional poster for the new movie says that "the most shocking truth in Star Wars history will soon be revealed." Yes, this includes even the shocker that Darth Vader is Luke's father. What could possibly be more surprising than that? Is Rey Palpatine's granddaughter, as some have theorized? Is Mace Windu Supreme Leader Snoke? These are both outlandish theories that fans have proposed, but all in play if the most shocking truth in Star Wars history is ahead of us.
Speaking of Snoke...
In another revelation, some purported images of leaked LEGO sets may provide another clue into what we can expect in The Last Jedi. For example, Snoke's skin tone and outfit in this leaked set suggest that he is (1) not as alien as we assumed and (2) he has a bit of a regal flare:
Oh, and remember when Daisy Ridley covered her hair up in an Instagram video because her hairstyle was significant? I don't make any immediate connections with this hairstyle, but check this image out:

Finally, did the Spider-Man: Homecoming poster copy Star Wars?
The above poster received widespread criticism from Marvel fans, with one film artist even going so far as to say, "It just looks like it's not even finished." Some on the Internet said it poorly evokes the Star Wars: The Force Awakens poster:
The similarity is definitely striking, and I agree the poster seems to be lacking a finish we normally expect from Marvel. I only hope that the poster does not reflect the quality of the movie itself, because I was pretty excited about seeing it. We'll just have to wait and see.
What do you think? I covered a lot of material, and I want to hear your thoughts on it! Do you have any theories about The Last Jedi based on what was leaked this week? And what are your thoughts on the new Spider-Man poster? Let me know in the comments!
