WWWF: Star Wars Edition - Quarterfinals Week #3

11/27/2017

Comments

It's already Week #3 of Who Would Win in a Fight: Star Wars Edition! It's flying by so quickly!

There's plenty more exciting battles to come, though, including this week! Before we get to that, let's see who won last week's fight...

Quarterfinals Week #2 Results

With a decisive yet unsurprising 80% of the vote last week, Darth Vader defeated Qui-Gon Jinn to advance to the semifinals. His opponent in the semifinals will be decided in next week's vote, Quarterfinals Week #4.

For now, though, we have yet another contentious battle this week between two fan favorites--Luke Skywalker vs. Darth Maul.

Luke Skywalker

Literally the center of the Star Wars saga, Luke Skywalker's life and accomplishments are hardly anything to scoff at. Born on the desolate desert planet of Tatooine, Luke Skywalker was suddenly caught up in the galaxy-wide battle between the Empire and the Rebellion when R2-D2, bearing an important message, fell to his hands. Luke eventually came under the instruction of Obi-Wan Kenobi and even Yoda himself, delivering massive blows to the Empire using his newfound abilities in the Force. He blew up the first Death Star with a one-in-a-million shot and converted the infamous Sith Lord Darth Vader (who also happened to be his father) back to the Light Side of the Force. While we've yet to see any action from Luke in the new trilogy, he's done quite well for himself in the past:

Darth Maul

There weren't a whole lot of things Star Wars fans liked about The Phantom Menace--but Darth Maul was definitely one of them. Though he was cut in half in Episode I, fans learned that Maul survived, making appearances in The Clone Wars and Rebels TV series. Maul eventually dropped his "Darth" title, but the hatred he channeled from the Dark Side only continued to fester. Maul traversed the galaxy for many years, bent on revenge against his would-be murderer Kenobi and Palpatine's new apprentice, Vader. Eventually, his final confrontation with Obi-Wan ended in his death, but Maul, with his fearsome red-and-black skin and high skill, was certainly a force to be reckoned with:
All right, now that you've seen what each contender is capable of, it's time to vote. Who would win in a fight? Luke Skywalker...or Darth Maul? Pick your choice below!

Just a reminder: voting is open until Wednesday the 29th at 11:59 P.M., so don't wait!
